It is no news that Nigeria PayPal can not send and receive funds efficiently but can be used just for online purchases. This makes for the research of another alternative on How to Open a Paypal account in Nigeria. We want nothing but a working PayPal account that can send and receive the fund.
Since we now have restrictions on the previous article I wrote on how to open and own a PayPal account in Nigeria which is the UAE PayPal account. You can go through the article HERE.
Different persons daily have been contacting me on how to open a working Paypal account that can send and receive funds as a Nigerian aside from the previous article, hence I came up with this other method of opening a working Paypal account as a Nigerian.
As we have known that Nigeria’s Paypal is not good for business as it is mainly used in shopping online of which can not do the basic things an international PayPal should do.
Today, I will be discussing in detail how to open and own a working PayPal account that can send and receive funds in Nigeria. Not a Nigerian PayPal though. I have been using this particular one for two years now and still blazing.
A reliable PayPal we will be talking about is Lesotho PayPal. Lesotho Paypal has been doing well ever since because it has all the features of an international Paypal that can send and receive funds conveniently and do other things that a foreign PayPal account does.
As a Nigerian, we can open a Lesotho Paypal account to keep our business going since our own Nigeria Paypal has been limited to some extent.
But before we proceed we would like to explain briefly what PayPal is and what it is used for, for the sake of those that stumbled on this post without the knowledge of what PayPal is.
What is Paypal?
According to Investopedia: PayPal is an electronic commerce (e-commerce) company that facilitates payment between parties through online fund transfers.
In other words, PayPal is a company that makes payment of goods and services possible between buyers and sellers.
Furthermore, if you want to transact/receive funds internationally, then PayPal is a better option you can use. If you render any service to someone in another country then the person can pay you through PayPal after which you can convert the PayPal fund to your local currency.
What are the things you need?
What you need before opening a Lesotho working PayPal account are;
- Email account (preferably a new one for this purpose)
- Your Information
- Billing address
- Passport number
- Phone number (A Nigeria phone number is okay)
Without wasting much of our time, let’s go into details on how you can open a working PayPal account that can send and receive funds in Nigeria.
So let me go straight to the point.

But that is not all, remember we want to create an account that can send and receive funds, to do that, we will have to verify our newly opened Paypal account by linking a card to it. Once we can link the card successfully, there is nothing to worry about again.
How to verify a Paypal account.
Click on Pay and Get Paid as shown below, go under Wallet and click on Banks and Cards and you will be taken to another page. On getting to the new page, click on LInk a new card.
On getting to this page, input your card information and click on “Link Card”. When you do that your card will be debited and you will get a four (4) digits code depending on your card you should get the debit immediately or in 24 hours, in my case I got it in 24 hours and I was shown on my statement as seen below. You will notice the word CODE written as part of the statement, the numbers before the word is the code you need to provide.
After you have received the code, you can log in back to your PayPal account and input the code in the required box. From the screenshot below, my code is 6181. yea, that is it. It is just 4 figures.
You will be charged $1.95 from the card you are trying to use, meaning you can’t use an empty card. After successful verification, your $1.95 charged earlier will be refunded/credited back to your card.
Also, try to keep all the details you use during your registration process as you might need them later in case you have account issues.
